siliconen remvloeistof automec SBF ipv dot 3 of dot 4

Have you changed to Automec Silicone DOT 5 Brake & Clutch Fluid yet?
The advantages are very attractive. Automec SBF is essentially non-hygroscopic. It absorbs less than one per cent by weight of moisture. This simple fact means that corrosion and all the problems caused by it - rusting cylinders, sticking callipers and the like, are virtually eliminated whilst at the same time the boiling point remains very high at around 260°C, indefinitely! The boiling points of most well-known glycol fluids seldom exceed 220°C and can often be as low as 170°C. As the fluid ages it steadily absorbs moisture reducing the boiling point even further. This is why all vehicle manufacturers using glycol fluids (which is most of them) recommend fluids be changed every year or eighteen months. licone brake fluid is non-toxic and virtually inert, it should neither damage you nor your car. The viscosity is consistent through most extremes of temperature whilst it has an indefinite shelf life. If SBF becomes mixed with glycol they will of course work safely as DOT fluids.
SBF does not damage paintwork nor any part of the braking or clutch system - it is also
environmentally friendly. If Silicone Fluid was used instead of glycol in Britain alone it would avoid the dumping of at least ten thousand tons of dirty, very unpleasant glycol fluid every year! Once Silicone Fluid is in the system it can remain there.
